Lorenzo Moreno focuses on the use of impact evaluations to build the evidence base for public policy-making. He spent 25 years at Mathematica Policy Research, where he led numerous impact evaluations of healthcare delivery and payment redesign of the Medicare program for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. He also led evaluations of international development programs in Latin America for the U.S. and foreign governments, foundations, and universities. In 2017, he created an organization, szio evaluation, that focuses on assisting public development corporations, non-governmental organizations, foundations, and other non-profit organizations acquire and interpret the evidence needed to conclude whether the social programs and initiatives they operate are effective. Ph.D., M.Sc.
