Dr. Sanchez- R is a Senior Researcher and Scholar at the Office of Population Research at Princeton University after being a Professor at the Instituto de Urbanismo in the Universidad Central de Venezuela. Her work in Latin America has been characterized by the study of the urban areas, Metropolis formation, and the growing informal world that permanently coexisted in all spheres of Society. She stressed research on urban segregation, barrios, and youths violence radicalization. She authored and co-authored several books and articles in the United States, Europe and Latin America. Recently, Professor Sanchez -R has studied International Migration to the United States, with special interests in the construction of Latino Identities. Lastly, she is advancing research on International Migration of Talent and High Skilled Educated to the United States, with special interests in Venezuela. Simultaneously, she is also advancing the analysis on the new alliances of State-Society under the authoritarian regime in Venezuela, towards a criminalized State. Recently, following the humanitarian crisis and the progressive imposition of a totalitarian regime, her interest related to the massive Venezuelans migration to the Latin-American region.
