Chris Beyrer, MD, MPH, is a professor at Johns Hopkins University in the departments of Epidemiology, International Health, and Health Behavior and Society. He is also Director of the Johns Hopkins Center for Public Health & Human Rights, Associate Director at the Johns Hopkins Center for AIDS Research (JHU CFAR) and President-Elect of the International AIDS Society.
He has expertise in the following areas: HIV/AIDS preventive interventions, including HIV vaccine clinical trials and preparedness studies; epidemiology and molecular epidemiology of HIV; substance use and narcotics reaserch; and public health and human rights. He received his MD from SUNY Health Sciences Center at Brooklyn and his MPH from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
