How can big data, alone or in combination with traditional sources, be used to answer questions that until now were considered unknowable? Seth Stephens-Davidowitz will give a public talk on Big Data and the Social Sciences. His work focuses on using big-data sources to uncover previously hidden behaviors and attitudes, he has addressed issues such as voting, racism, parenting, sexual preferences, child abuse and depression. He is at work on a book based on his research. Seth received a Ph.D. in economics from Harvard in 2013. He is a quantitative analyst at Google. For more information visit www.princeton.edu/jrc
